Moosey-Moose Goes Shopping With The Computer!

Hi Boys and Girls,

What a fun day! So, remember yesterday when I told you I was really sick? And remember when I used the computer to go shopping? WOW!! That was really cool!

Have you ever done that? It's really easy. All you have to do is point to the stuff you want and then click the send button. I bought some more stuff today. It's supposed to show up at my house. I don't know what day. I think I bought a television for my bedroom, and some music, and a bike. I don't remember everything I bought. Uh oh.

Well, I have to go now.

Bye,

Moosey-Moose

Moosey-Moose Uses the Computer

Howdy Boys and Girls,

Oh boy! Never eat an entire container of ice cream all at one time! I thought it would be fun, but it wasn't. I was sick all day yesterday. My stomach felt like a thunder storm was racing through it. All I could do was stay in bed all day.

Well, not the entire day. I did get up to use the computer. One of the things I did was to go shopping.

I'll tell you more about that later. Right now I need to go eat some breakfast. But this time I will eat cereal and juice.

Bye for now,

Moosey-Moose

Moosey-Moose Feels Sick

Hi! It's me again.

Yeah, I was going to go shopping but then I changed my mind because I was not feeling good. Maybe later today.

OK, bye for now.

Moosey-Moosey Uses the Computer to Go Shopping

Hi!

What's happening?

I finally finished washing all my clothes. I had a really bad stomach ache last night. I don't know why. I ate only good foods. Hmmm...

Bye for now,

Tuesday, October 28, 2008

Hi Boys and Girls,

Whew!! I finally finished washing and drying all my clothes. Now I have to fold them and put them on hangers, too. I should probably take a break and enjoy the sunshine today. I watched the news this afternoon. It's supposed to rain later this week. I sure miss the sunshine in Cabo. But, I had to come home.

Imer, I don't agree with you. Lots and lots of things are fair in the world. All you have to do is work hard. And you should do that anyway. I bet you are a hard worker.

Marisol, thank you for telling me my friend Flower is pretty. I agree. She is a great buddy for me. I hope to see her again soon.

I'm hungry. I think I'll go eat some ice cream. That is my most favorite food. But mexican rice and beans and tortillas sound really good, too!!

Oh, one more thing, my friend Sleepy Bear says he is starting a book club. That is really cool!! He is so smart.

OK, gotta go fold clothes and eat ice cream. Bye for now!

Moosey-Moose Does Laundry

Howdy!

Well, as you know I am home from my totally awesome vacation in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. I sure miss it there. But it is good to be home and seeing my stuff again.

What I don't miss is all the laundry I have to do now. I had no idea I dirtied so many clothes while I was on vacation. I've been doing laundry for days now!! I can't wait to be finished so I can go outside and have some more fun.

Ooops! The dryer bell just rang. I'd better go check my clothes to see if they are dry. If they are then I'll have to spend the rest of the night hanging them up. This is not fun. I hope you are having more fun than me right now.

Your buddy,

Moosey-Moose

Moosey-Moose Gets Back From Vacation

Hi Boys and Girls,

I'm back in Seattle. I am very very tired. I was on a plane most of the day. First I had to fly from Cabo to Dallas, Texas. Then I had to catch a flight to Los Angeles. Except that plane was late so I had to sit in the airport for 3 hours!!! Then I finally got on a plane to Seattle. I just arrived home an hour ago. I am totally exhausted. I will write more tomorrow after I have had some sleep.

Bye for now,

Moosey-Moose Goes on Vacation - Day 11

Hola Amigos and Amigas!

Just a really quick blog note before I hop into my taxi cab. Cabo has been really great! But, I need to leave so I can come back again. Plus, I kinda miss my friends at home.
This is one last picture of my buddy, Flower, and me watching the waves on the beach.

I'll write when I get back to Seattle.

Adios!

Moosey-Moose Goes on Vacation - Day 10

Hola Amigos and Amigas,

Well, the fun is coming to an end. It is time for me to leave. I spent the day at my pool and tonight I had dinner at the hotel. They had a mariachi band playing. It was pretty cool.

I leave tomorrow morning. I guess I'm a little bit excited to get back home, too. Sure has been nice being in Cabo. I hope I get to come back one day. My favorite part was parasailing and snorkeling. Oh, I snorkeled with a bunch of other people on the boat. I met a lot of really nice people on this trip.

Time for me to get to bed. I have to get up early to take a taxi to the airport.

Adios,

Moosey-Moose Goes on Vacation - Day 9 - Night

Hola!

Well, my bags are packed. I can't believe my vacation is already over. I sure went by fast. Why does time always go by faster when you're having fun and not when you're doing something like, homework?

Anyway, today I spent a bunch of time with my friend, Flower. No, she's not my girlfriend. She is just a friend. She's like my buddy except she's a girl. This is a picture of her. I think she's pretty, but she's still just my buddy.

Thanks to everyone who wrote a comment to me. I was starting to get a little homesick so I was happy to have notes to read from my home town. I think it's like so cool how I can write notes and then you can write a note back to me and it doesn't take like a whole bunch of days in between.

Ok, I'm going to go to bed now. Did I tell you that the time here is one hour ahead? Yeah, so like when your clock says 9pm, my clock says 10 pm. It has to do with which time zone you're in.

Anyway, now I'm really gonna sign off. Write to you tomorrow!

Adios,

Moosey-Moose

Moosey-Moose Goes on Vacation - Day 9

Buenos Dias Amigos and Amigas,

It is almost time for me to start packing to go home. Here is a picture of me in the computer room at my hotel. Another guest took my picture for me. On the computer screen is a picture of the resort where I have been spending the last week. I'm sure gonna miss it here.
Today I'm going to play on the beach some more, walk around some more, and maybe see my friend, Flower, before I have to pack my bags.

I hope you have a good day. Check back later.

Adios,

Moosey-Moose

Moosey-Moose Goes on Vacation - Day 8

Hola Amigos and Amigas,

I had a great breakfast this morning! I had eggs with chorrizo and tortillas. All the food is fresh and homemade. I will have to figure out a way to make food this yummy when I get home.

Home. I guess I miss my stuff a little bit. But I'm going to miss Cabo when I have to go. Have you ever felt to different ways at the same time? Like you want to be in two places at the same time because you miss them both? It is a strange way to feel.

Anyway, today I went shopping. I almost bought a super colorful blanket. Except they call them serapes. I'm not sure if I spelled that right. Does anyone out there speak Spanish? If you do, maybe you can write to me and tell me if I spelled it right or not.

Well, anyway, I walked all over Cabo again. I think I am getting used to the heat. It felt a little cooler today.

Time for dinner.

Adios! I'll write again just before I go to bed

Moosey-Moose Goes on Vacation - Day 7

Hola Amigos and Amigas! The concierge at my hotel told me I misspelled hello in Spanish. I'm glad he told me. I almost went my entire trip spelling it wrong.

My vacation is almost over! I'm feeling a little melancholy. I'm having a totally cool time here in Cabo. All the people are very friendly. The food is delicious, and I love lying by the pool or on the white sandy beaches.

I'm going to go read my book and then call it a night. Chat with you tomorrow!

Moosey-Moose Goes on Vacation - Day 6

Ohla Amigos and Amigas,

Ok, back to telling you about my snorkeling adventure. So, we were supposed to snorkel at one beach but the waters were too rough. The captain of the boat said it was not safe. No worries. The boat ride was tons of fun. So we all sat back and relaxed some more. About 10 minutes later we arrived at the snorkeling spot. It is called Chileno Beach.

First I put on my life vest, then my fins and a snorkel mask. Then I walked down a latter into the water! I swam around looking at the bottom of the ocean floor. There were reefs, and all sorts of different kinds of fish. I even touched one!

After I snorkeled for almost one hour, I got back on the boat with everyone else. The people who worked on the boat made sandwiches for us and chips and guacamole. Muy bien!!

I'm going to go play now. Check back later to read about more of my adventures!
Adios!

Moosey-Moose Goes on Vacation - Day 5

Ohla!
Bloop! Bloop!
Hello Boys and Girls. Today was another fun-filled adventure kind of day. And, another first for me. Guess where I went? Give up? I went snorkeling!
Have you ever been snorkeling? It's really totally cool. I had to wear a life vest because, well, for two reasons. One, because it is the safe thing to do, and second because it helped me to float. Have you ever tried to float carrying two huge moose horns on top of your head? Yeah, I didn't think so.

We rode on a boat called a catamaran. That's a picture of the boat I was on. It's soo cool! And fast!!

Uh oh. It's time for me to go eat dinner. I'll have to finish telling you tomorrow about my snorkeling trip.

Adios, Amigos and Amigas

Moosey-Moose Goes on Vacation - Day 4

Ohla Amigos and Amigas!

Today was one of my best adventures I have every had!!! Did my clues help you guess what I had planned for today? OK, I'll tell you. I went parasailing! That's right! What? You don't know what parasailing is? I guess I'll have to explain.

Are you ready to make some pictures in your mind? OK, here we go. Hang on tight. First, you go the the beach and wait for small boat to pick you up. The small boat, called a water taxi, takes you to another boat that is a little bit larger, and more powerful. You get into the second boat, which is further out in the ocean. Then, the second boat takes off. One of the boat crew members helps you to put on your life vest and a harness with hooks on it. Then, you walk to the back of the boat. The back of the boat is flat. The crew member hooks you to a parachute that is blown up behind you. Then you sit down. The boat starts to go faster and faster. And, at the same time, the parachute line is getting longer and longer. Pretty soon my feet were no longer touching the boat! I was sitting in a chair, floating high above the ocean. The parachute behind me was catching the wind. That is what let me stay up in the air.

It was very peaceful floating in the sky. The only thing I heard was the wind blowing my parachute. The boat sailed around the ocean for about 20 minutes. Then, slowly, the crew members pulled the line in. Soon, my feet landed on the back of the boat. They unhooked my harness and then I got to sit in the boat and enjoy a boat ride while the next person took their turn sailing in a parachute.

I loved parasailing so much, I just might have to try it again! What do you think. Should I?

After parasailing, I treated myself to another delicious meal of authentic Mexican food. That is another thing. The food here is fabulous. I won't be surprised if I gain an extra few moose pounds!
The weather is still very hot and humid. Do you remember what humid means? I'll give you a hint. My fur always feels like I just got out of the pool. As you can see by my picture, I finally had to take off my sweater.
This evening I'm going to read my book and go to bed early.
Adios Amigos and Amigas,
Moosey-Moose

Moosey-Moose Goes on Vacation - Day 3 Night

Ohla Amigos and Amigas!

Whew! What a day. My hooves are so-ore! I must have walked a hundred miles today. In the hot, hot, humid air. And the sun! The sun was beating down on my. I though for sure I would collapse. But, then I remembered that when the temperature rises, so does my water intake. That means I need to be sure to drink lots and lots of bottled water. Even if I don't think I'm thirsty, my body needs the extra water.

I visited the downtown of Cabo. There are two different parts. One is like a market place or a flea market. Shop owners sell their items in open booths set up under an awning. The floors are just the dirt ground. It is nothing fancy at all. Some of the booths are very small. I could barely fit inside many of them. What's interesting is that all the shop owners wanted my business. They would almost beg me to buy something.

After a full morning of NOT wanting to buy anything I told myself I needed to learn some more Spanish so I could tell the shop owners, in as nice a way as a moose can, that I was not interested. I asked a very nice lady who looked like she spoke Spanish and English. She told me to say, Te llamo luego! I asked the nice lady what I was saying and she told me I was telling everyone that I would call them tomorrow. Greeeat! I'm telling all the locals in Cabo that I'm going to call them tomorrow. I don't even want to think about what my cell phone charges would be. The nice lady laughed at me when she saw the panic on my face. She said not to worry, it is just a figure of speech. No one expects me to call them tomorrow. It's just a nice way of saying I am not interested in buying anything.

OK, so that was my lesson in Spanish for the day!

After walking some more, I went back to y hotel to sit by the pool to cool off. I met a nice friend while I was there. Her name is Flower. She's all the way from Kansas!
Tomorrow I plan to go on another adventure. I'll give you a few clues about what I'll be doing. There will be a boat and water and sky and height and very, very strong, sturdy fabric. Can you guess what I'm going to do? Check back tomorrow and I'll tell you!

Adios Amigos and Amigas,

Moosey-Moose

Moosey-Moose Goes on Vacation - Day 3

Buenos Dios, Amigas and Amigos,

I'm trying to work on my Spanish while I'm here. It is a little tricky.
This is a picture of me catching some early morning sunshine from my hotel room at the Pueblo Bonito Resort. It's a little tricky taking photos of myself. I have to set a timer on the camera and everything. But I think I look pretty good, don't you think?

Have I told you how hot it is here in Cabo. Well, if I haven't I'll tell you now. IT'S HOT. AND HUMID? Do you know what it is like to be humid? Well, it's like taking a really hot bubble bath and the bathroom mirror fogs up and it's hard to dry off. There is lots of moisture in the air. Luckily, my hotel room has air conditioning.

It's a beautiful morning here. Sun is out and the birds are chirping. Yup, birds. Down below my room is a very large, well, ok, HUGE bird cage with a bunch of love birds. Boy, when they wake up, they are noi-sy!.

I'm going downstairs to the hotel restaurant for breakfast. Then, today I plan to walk around the town and check-out the sites.

Adios!

Moosey-Moose Goes on Vacation - Day 2

Ohla Amigos!

Well, I told you I would show you a picture of me on the airplane but unfortunately, that one did not come out very good. I'm very picky about pictures of me. Anyway, here is a better picture. This is from my seat inside the airplane. We are getting near Cabo!

This was my first time in an airplane. Very exciting!

As soon as we landed I had to go through customs, then I caught a cab to my hotel. As soon as I checked in, I ran for the beach! The water was really warm, like taking a bath in really salty water. And the color was a clear green. It turned darker as the bottom got deeper.
For dinner I ate at a restaurant on the beach. The tables were actually ON THE SAND! Can you believe that? What fun!
Adios for now, Amigos

Moosey-Moose Goes on Vacation - Day 1

Mooo-Ooooo!!!

Hi kids. I'm finally on vacation to Cabo. Did you find it on the map? Do you know how many miles away Seattle is from Cabo?

I asked one of the passengers on the plane to take my picture. As soon as I get to my hotel, I'll upload it and send it to you.

I will be staying at the Pueblo Bonito Rose Resort. I cannot wait to jump in the pool!

Please write soon.

Adios amigos,

Moosey-Moose Goes on Vacation

Mooo!

That's Moose-Speak for Hi, there, boys and girls!

My name is Moosey-Moose. As you can probably guess, I'm a moose! Yup, that's right. But I'm not your usual run-of-the-mill Moose. No sirreee. No way. No how. I'm more adventurous than that. In fact, I'm so adventurous that I'm going on a trip to Cabo San Lucas. Your parents might know it better as just "Cabo". Anyway, I leave tomorrow from Seattle. I'm very excited especially since I've never been.

Do you know where Cabo is located? If you get a map of North America, look at the strip of land below California. That area is called Baja California. At the very tippy tip bottom is Cabo. The region of land is called a peninsula because it has water on three sides.

I have to go finish packing now. Be sure to check back tomorrow and every day for the next week. I look forward to reading your blogs to me.

Adios,

Moosey-Moose
