It's Summer Time and the Living is Easy

Hi Friends,

Guess who's cleaning the cat box? Yup, you guessed it! Too bad for Sleepy Bear. I guess he's not as smart as he thinks he is. Winning the 50 games of dominoes was super easy.

So, while Sleepy Bear is doing my chores, I'm enjoying summer time in my backyard with a root beer float, a comic book, and sunshine!

Oh, by the way, the birds are being birds - flying around and eating lots of bird seed. That reminds me, Sleepy Bear needs to put more bird seed in the feeders for them.

Ahhhhh, I love winning!

Bye for now,

Moosey-Moose Plays Dominoes

Hi,

This is me playing Dominoes with Sleepy Bear. I think I'm winning. All you have to do is match the dots. The person who matches all their pieces wins the game! We got up really early today to play Dominoes because I told Sleepy Bear we would play 50 games today so we had to start really really early. Whoever wins the most games will be the best Dominoes player. And the loser will have to do his own chores and the winner's chores for one whole week! One of my chores is cleaning out the cat box! Poor Sleepy Bear.

I bet you are wondering what I'm wearing? Well, glad you asked. It's a scarf that one of Kathleen's students made for us. I really like it. It's super soft and the colors are cool, too. It kept me warm outside this morning.

Wish me luck!

Moosey-Moose Answers His Mail

Hi Friends,

Ewie! Grossology at the Science Center sounds super gross but super cool! Just my kind of place to have an adventure. Kathleen told me about some of the exhibits. She said there was one that lets you smell different animal smells and each smell means something different. There's a smell for when an animal is angry and another for when an animal wants to be your friend. There were two more but I don't remember what they are.

Oh, there was another exhibit game that lets you match a blood color to a bug. I never knew that some bugs have blue blood and some have white and some have yellow! That is super cool!

What else did you learn at the Science Center?

I don't know about starting my own book club. It's a good idea and maybe Sleepy Bear would help me but I don't want him to think I'm trying to take away his big activity. He is super sensitive and I don't want to make him cry. Besides, he's a better reader than I am.

I'm really sorry about the two pets that died. Are you going to get new pets?

Well, I need to water the plants outside and add bird seed to the feeders. Those are two of my chores. And I can't miss a day of watering or the plants will dry up. That would not be good.

Have a fun day,

Moosey-Moose Does Gymnastics at Home

Hi Friends,

Look! I'm getting ready to try some gymnastics. You know me, I love an adventure!

This is me getting ready to do a back flip down the stairs.

It's very tricky. You have to keep your balance. One of Kathleen's cats was watching me. I told him to watch me first, and then practice on something super soft first.

And this is me with a perfect landing in the splits. Pretty cool! Well, it was for me. Angelo, the cat, didn't listen to me. He tried to do this before he practiced on super soft pillows.
It didn't turn out so great for him. He broke his arm in two places and now his arm is in a cast! He needs to stay in his crate so he doesn't try to run around the house and do more back flips on the stairs.

Angelo is a great cat, but he really should have listened to me when I told him to practice on the pillows first!

Bye for now.
Your friend,

Moosey-Moose Has Guests in the Garden - Part 2

Hi Friends,

Remember the baby robins I told you about last week? Well, they aren't babies anymore!

They grew up super fast. This one is getting ready to fly out of the nest. First he made his wings move really fast like he was flying except he didn't go anywhere. I think he was just practicing.

After he practiced and practiced, the next day, this one flew out of the nest and onto the stairs on the deck. Right after I took this picture, he flew to the fence.

And this one is on a rock in our garden. He's camouflaged. Hey! That's another magnet word. Do you know what camouflage means? Look it up in the dictionary and let me know what you find out.
Well, now all three robins have left the nest. I don't think they'll come back.
It was super cool to watch them grow up from teeny tiny baby birds to almost adult size!! They sure grew up fast. I wonder what I should do with their nest? Do you have any ideas?
Be sure to check back next week for another one of my adventures!
Bye for now,
Moosey-Moose
