Moosey-Moose Visits the Sky Tower in New Zealand

Hi Travel Buddies,

A couple of weeks ago I went on a super quick trip to New Zealand!

Here is a map to show you where I went:

This is the link to the map: http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=world+maps+to+print&id=7B61700A0353396AC5624EB37FDE95240A1E5789&FORM=IQFRBA

I had to travel on two airplanes. I took one airplane from Seattle to Los Angeles. That was only two and a half hours. Then I had to take an airplane from Los Angeles to New Zealand. That flight was 12 hours long! I slept most of the night. I left on a Wednesday night and arrived on a Friday morning. I had to cross the international date line.

The Tower

This is a picture of the tower in Auckland, New Zealand.

I rode in a super fast elevator to the top. When I got there I walked all around the tower, on the inside.

There are glass squares in the floor so you can look down. This is me staring down at the street below. The legs and feet behind me belong to my reading and writing teacher, Kathleen.

This is me inside the observation tower. I could see forever!

If you are ever in New Zealand I suggest you go to the Sky Tower. There are lots of fun things to see and do. Here is the link to learn more: http://www.skycityauckland.co.nz/Attractions/Skytower.html

Now, where to next?!

Moosey-Moose Goes To a Plant Sale

Hi Buddies,

This morning I got up bright and early to go to the plant sale at Olympic View Elementary. My friend, Wendy, said this is their 11th year selling plants! That’s a lot of plants.

Olympic View Mascot

This is the school’s mascot, Mr. Hedgehog. Good thing I wore my blue t-shirt today so we are matchey-matchey.

Herbs! Nom nom nom

Yum! Yum! Herbs. I like eating herbs. They make icky foods taste super yummy and delicious. Kathleen likes to use herbs when she cooks. I like the bread she makes with rosemary. She also makes me drink mint tea when my tummy feels upside down.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Some people like to put art in their gardens. These are ceramic mushrooms. They were made by students at the school.

I like the bright orange flowers, too. I think Kathleen would like these.

Succulents - slurp slurp

These are called succulents. That’s a fancy word for cactus. I bought one for Sleepy Bear. It’s a surprise so don’t tell him.

More Munchies! Nom nom nom

After you are done shopping for plants, you can have a treat, like a homemade cookie!

The plant sale is today, tomorrow and Sunday. Look for one of my bookmarks, too. I hope you have fun!

Moosey-Moose And Movie Artifacts and Costumes

Hi Travel Buddies,

The movie theatre where I saw John Carter, was at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood. Before the movie there was a music concert by the man who plays a huge Wurlitzer organ.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

This Wurlitzer organ is really old. It was built in the 1920s! But it was restored to be brand new! It sounds incredible, like a whole entire orchestra is playing music!

Wurlitzer Organ

The man playing the organ is really good. He has won awards for playing this organ.

Here is the link to the El Capitan Theatre so you can learn more about the Wurlitzer organ: http://elcapitan.go.com/about.html

Costume

In the lobby were the costumes that the actors wore in the movie. This is the costume that the character Matai Shang wore.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

These are some of the artifacts that were used in the movie. That’s me in the corner. I could imagine myself being in the movie, too. Maybe next time!

I had a super great time at the movies on Hollywood Boulevard. I can’t wait to go back. But for now, I’m going home to take care of my birds and see what my best friend, Sleepy Bear is up to.

Bye for now,

If you read my blog then you know I like going to the movies. When I was in Los Angeles, I got to go to a super cool movie theatre. It is called the El Capitan Theatre.

This is what the outside of the theatre looks like at night when it is all bright and sparkly.

Ask an adult to help you visit the theatre’s website. This is the link : http://elcapitan.go.com

This theatre first opened in 1926! That was 86 years ago! WOW! That’s old.

John Carter Poster

When I was there I got to see the movie, John Carter. It was in 3D which means I got to wear the super cool glasses.

I also ate a big bucket of THE BEST popcorn, candy, and a root beer soda. It was a perfect afternoon.

Check back again and I will show you pictures of me with some of the costumes from the movie!

Moosey-Moose Prepares for His Next Adventure

Hi Friends,

Tomorrow I get to go behind the scenes at Pastry Craft! Ms. Pfalzer and Kathleen are going to bake more croissants! YUM!! I ate croissants in Paris last year. Now I get to learn how to make croissants. Then I can eat them whenever I want to.

Sleepy Bear is going to go with me. I hope he doesn’t eat all the croissants before I get to have at least five!

Check back tomorrow for more details. Oh, if you want to tell an adult about Ms. Pfalzer and making croissants, here is the link to her website: www.Pastrycraftseattle.com

A Perfect Day to Feed the Birds!

Hi Friends,

I finished painting my bird feeder!

Finally the Birds Can Eat

I think my bird friends will like it.

I want to thank my friend, Big Bear, for giving me the idea to paint my bird feeder like the sky and the trees. I added the flowers.

My reading and writing teacher, Kathleen, told me that birds like flowers. I hope they like my flowers!

It’s time for me to plan my next adventure. I wonder where I should go…? If you have ideas, let me know.

Moosey-Moose Begins Construction On His Bird Feeder

Hi Friends,

My bird house is under construction!

Construction Begins

This is very tricky. I have to use wood glue and nails. I asked Kathleen to help me.

I handed her the pieces and she used the glue and the hammer for the nails.

Construction Finished!

We make a good team!

My bird feeder is now ready for paint.

I chose green and blue like my friend, Big Bear from San Diego suggested. Check back a little bit later and I’ll show you what it looks like all finished!

Moosey-Moose Answers His Mail

Hi Friends,

I just got a message from a friend in San Diego. He suggested I paint my bird feeder blue like the sky and green like the trees. He said the birds would like that because it is camouflage and they like the sky and trees!

That is a super-duper idea! And those are two of my most favoritist colors. Thank you for helping me decide.

I will ask Kathleen to take me to the store tomorrow for paint.

Moosey-Moose Has a New Bird Feeder!

Hi Friends,

Look what Sleepy Bear gave to me for a Christmas present!

The Box

Sleepy Bear knows I like birds and I like to have lots of bird feeders for them in the spring time.

I hang them in the trees in my backyard.

I bet he remembered how the super windy day blew down one of my bird feeders last year and it broke. That was a sad day for me. And my bird friends!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Uh Oh! There are so many pieces to fit together.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

And instructions on paper! Good thing Sleepy Bear taught me how to read. The instructions say I need a hammer.

I will ask Kathleen to help me. I also need to paint my bird feeder when I have it all put together. What colors should I paint it? Write to me and give me your ideas!

Your Friend,
