Moosey-Moose Goes to New Orleans! Day 4

Hi Travel Buddies,

Today I visited Congo Square. There's a lot of history here! You can read about here.

This sign is in Armstrong Park in the Treme neighborhood of New Orleans.

Moosey-Moose Goes to New Orleans! Day 3

Hi Travel Buddies, look at me!

I'm sitting in the arms of a music legend. His name is Pete Fountain. This is at the place where I ate beignets. There are four more statues. One of Ronnie Kole, Antoine "Fats" Domino, Al "Jumbo" Hirt, and Chris Owens. I'm learning that New Orleans is where jazz music was born! Maybe I'll learn how to play the trumpet when I get home!

Today I'm going to walk around the French Quarter some more. New Orleans is a super cool and exciting city!

Moosey-Moose Goes to New Orleans! Day 2

Hi Travelmates,
I'm in New Orleans! For my first outing I ventured out to find myself some beignets with a dump truck load of powdered sugar in each on and a cup of hot cocoa. Beignets are a square French donut. The grownups eat them with chicory coffee. I prefer the hot cocoa.

You can get beignets in lots of different restaurants in New Orleans. I went to a place called Cafe Beignet. http://www.cafebeignet.com Do you see the statues in the pictures in the website? Check back later this week and I'll tell you more about them and show you a special picture!

Oh, there's another famous place for beignets. It's called Cafe du Monde. Here's the link to their website: http://cafedumonde.com

I have to go now and finish eating my beignets!

Moosey-Moose Goes to New Orleans!

Hi Traveling Buddies!

I'm on my way to New Orleans, Louisiana! I've never been but I hear it's a lot of fun and the food is super yummy!!!

I have to take an airplane ride to Houston, Texas. That's where I'm at now. Then, I'll get on a different plane to New Orleans! That flight will only be about one hour long. Short flights like that are called puddle jumpers.

Check back this week and travel with me in New Orleans.

Moosey-Moose and His Humongous Waffle

Hi Friends,

Look at me!
I got a spacial treat for breakfast today! Waffles from one of my most favoritest restaurants in Seattle. It's called Andaluca's. My waffle has fresh strawberries and blueberries on top with a huge scoop of orange flavored butter. Then I poured a bunch of warm syrup all over the top! YUM!!! No, I'm not drinking coffee. It's hot cocoa but without all the whippy cream like Sleepy Bear puts on his hot cocoa.

Moosey-Moose and the Birds

Hi Friends,

I've been reading a lot about birds for my new birdhouse. That's why I haven't blogged in a while. Anyway, I want to share a website I found that tells you some interesting stuff about finches and other birds and animals. Here's the link: http://kids.yahoo.com/animals/birds.

This weekend I'm going to get another bird house!

Moosey-Moose Answers His Mail

Hi Jahmara,

I can't wait to see what you crochet for me. I really like the pillow I have and the blanket that Sleepy Bear and I share. But he uses it more than I do. He sleeps a lot more than I do. I'm too busy going places and doing exciting things!

I finished my bird house. Now, I'm going to read some books about birds.

Bye for now,
