Moosey-Moose and His Bird Studies

Hi Friends,

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I’m studying bird feeders and bird habits and habitats.

I think I need to wait until next spring for my bird friends to come back and visit me. They like to fly south for the cold winter months.

I’m taking lots and lots of notes. I want to have my bird feeders hanging outside and filled with all their favorite bird seeds when they return.

I plan to spend my winter months indoors building more bird houses. I like building bird houses. I made one and painted it red, white and blue. What colors should I use next?

But, before I start building bird houses, I need to refill my backpack with my traveling supplies. I’m going on an adventure in two days!

Check back to find out where I’m going. I’ll give you a hint. Someone very important lives in the city I’m going to.

Bye for now,

Moosey-Moose’s Bird Feeder Takes Flight!

Hi Friends,

Something horrible happened last night during the wind storm.

Bird Feeder Falls to the Ground - Oct 2011

One of my bird feeders fell out of the tree!

This is the tree that my bird feeder used to hang from. The same tree that I had to use a ladder to climb way up high to reach the bird feeder!

The bird feeder wasn’t the only thing to fall to the ground.

A HUGE tree branch broke off the tree and landed in my backyard!

What am I going to do now?

Should I put my bird feeder back up in the tree? I wonder if the birds have already started to fly south for the winter? Maybe I should wait until spring to hang my bird feeder back in the tree?

I think it is time for me to do some more research about birds. Maybe Sleepy Bear can help me find a book. Or, maybe you can recommend a bird book for me.

Bye for now,

Moosey-Moose Returns Home

Hi Travel Buddies,

This is the hardest part about traveling and going on adventures. The going back home part. Don’t get me wrong. I love my home. But I have A LOT of fun traveling that I just want to keep on traveling.

Time to Hit the Road Home

I had a super great time at Cameo Heights Mansion. Everyone was really nice. I especially liked all the yummy food. And the pool. And my room. And the fruit cups. And the pastries.

Okay, there wasn’t anything I didn’t like! Don’t forget to tell your parents about coming out here, too.

Well, the good thing about going home is I get to plan my next adventure. I also get to see my best friend, Sleepy Bear, and I get to watch my birds eat their bird seed. That reminds me. I have to remember to check their bird feeders as soon as I get home.

I hope you had fun traveling with me. Now you can help me decide where I should go next!

Moosey-Moose Visits Grape Juice Country–Day #4

Hi Travel Buddies,

This morning there were 26 different kinds of fruit in my fruit dish!

Alan is super fast at slicing and making all the pieces fit in the dish. This is a fun way to start the day eating!

Some of the grape juice factories have dogs that live on the property. This is Zeke. He’s a standard poodle. He was very friendly

Okay, a little too friendly for me! Kathleen had to help me get away.

Piper Gives Moosey-Moose Puppy Kisses

This is Piper. He was a shy. I was fine to sit by myself next to him. He only gave me a few puppy kisses.

Penny's Helper In the KitchenI made it back to Cameo Heights Mansion in time to help Penny, the chef, make caramel apples. I got to help stick the pecan nuts on the outside of the apple after she dipped them in caramel sauce.

After that she was going to dip the WHOLE thing in chocolate sauce! YUM times 2!

This is another dinner that Penny made for me. It’s shrimp and scallops and rice with veggies! YUM! YUM!

I’ve learned to leave room for dessert, too. I thought I should help the apple harvest so I ordered the apple cobbler. Deanne made this from apples from her orchard. Guess what? It was YUM times 2 again!!

Well, tomorrow I have to travel back to Seattle. I’m going to miss all my new friends here at Cameo Heights Mansion and all my friends I made at the grape juice  factories. But I can always come back.

Bye for now,
