Moosey-Moose and His Pine Cone Bird Feeders

Hi

My reading and writing teacher, Kathleen, found out from her friend about what to do next with the pine cones covered in peanut butter.

I’m supposed to roll the pine cones in bird seed.  Then, I’m supposed to hang the pine cones from the trees outside in my backyard!

Good thing Kathleen asked her friend, too.

Check back later and I’ll show you what happens to my pine cones, bird seed, and string!

Bye for now,

Moosey-Moose Makes Peanut Butter Covered Pine Cone Bird Feeders

Hi Friends,

Mrs. A’s class told me a cool way to make a new bird feeder.  They said to roll pine cones in peanut butter.

I love peanut butter!  D you know why I love peanut butter?  I’ll tell you.  It’s because peanuts are in one of my most favoritest snacks.  Do you know what is one of my most favoritest snacks?  I’ll tell you that, too.  G.O.R.P.  Do you know what that means?  Guess what?  I’ll tell you!  It means good ol’ raisins and PEANUTS!

Moosey-Moose Makes Peanut Butter Pine Cone Feeders

I wasn’t to sure what to do.  So I just borrowed a jar of peanut butter from Kathleen and I collected some pine cones from the backyard.  I used a nice table cloth so I wouldn’t get peanut butter all over the deck.

These look yummy!  I almost want to eat one for myself.

But what should I do with them now? Should I leave them on the table cloth on the deck?

How will the birds know the peanut butter covered pine cones are here? How will the squirrels know the peanut butter covered pine cones are here for the birds and not for them?!

Maybe I should have asked more questions before I tried this on my own.  I hope Mrs. A’s class writes back and tells me what to do with all these peanut butter covered pine cones.

Bye for now,

Moosey-Moose Forgot to Feed the Birds!

Hi Friends,

Most of you already know I like to feed the birds in my yard. Last year I even built a bird house and painted it red, white, and blue!  Super cool!

I like watching the birds build their nests, too.  One year I had a new family build their nest under my deck.  I watched them grow up and fly away!  Super cool times two!!

But I have bad news.  My bird feeders are empty.

Moosey-Moose Neglects His Bird Feeders - March 2011I don’t know how I could forget about them.  One of my bird feeders got super gross with gunk and rotten bird seed.  Part of it is broken.

What should I do?  Buy new bird feeders?  Do you think I can fix this one?  The one on the right is OK.  The one on the left is sort of OK.  The one in the middle is super not OK.

I feel horrible.  Will you help me decide what to do?  I need to do something quick because today was the first day of spring and birds are flying home from their warm homes in the south.

Your friend,

Moosey-Moose

Moosey-Moose Gets Wiffled at Bru’s Wiffle A Waffle Joint In Santa Monica, California

Hi Travel Buddies,

Signage for Bru's Wiffles

Finally!  I’m at Bru’s Wiffle a Waffle Joint on Wilshire Boulevard in Santa Monica.  This is a really cool waffle joint.

Moosey-Moose Orders Wiffles

There are a million different kinds of waffles to choose from.  Well, OK, maybe not a million, but there’s a lot! One has ice cream and strawberries and nuts and chocolate syrup and whippy cream! That’s better than a Moose Munch Bar!  I bet Sleepy Bear would order that one if he was here with me.

They also have waffles that are like a pizza.  If it was lunch time I would probably order one like that with lots of veggies and tomato sauce and cheese.

But since it’s early morning, I’ll order one with strawberries and maple syrup AND whippy cream!

Bru and Moosey-Moose's Wiffles

This is Bru. She is the owner of Bru’s Wiffle.  She’s really nice!  Be sure to ask her for one of my bookmarks when you visit her.  Oh, and they have cool t-shirts and hats.  Maybe next time I can get one to wear in Seattle!

Yum Yum Wiffles

YUM! YUM!  This looks super yummy!  I want to jump right into the pile of whippy cream and munch on the strawberries and the hot-off-the-griddle waffle.

WOW!  The waffle is just right.  It’s a little crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside and the flavor is way better than any waffle I’ve ever had before.  Shsshhh… don’t tell my reading and writing teacher, Kathleen.  She thinks hers at home are the best!

I Can't Believe I Ate the Whole Thing

MOOPS!  I can’t believe I ate the whole thing.  I need to lie down a while and let the waffle fill in all the nooks and crannies in my tummy.  I’ll just take a nap.

I hope you get to visit Bru’s Wiffle a Waffle Joint

Be sure to tell Bru I said “hi” and I can’t wait to visit again. Oh, I made another new friend, Mica.  She works at Bru’s Wiffle.  You can tell her I said “hi” too!

Hi Travel Buddies,

Moosey-Moose Wins An Oscar

Today was one of my most exciting days ever!  I won an Oscar for Best Moose!

I knew I had a lot of fans, but I never knew I had this many.

I want to thank my reading and writing teacher, Kathleen, for giving me encouragement to always do my best and follow my dreams.  I want to thank my best friend, Sleepy Bear, for giving me confidence to read and write.  Last but not least, I want to thank all my fans for reading my blog.  You will be the first to know when my book is published!

OK, enough about me.  My next stop is Bru’s Wiffles.  What’s a wiffle?  Well, check back tomorrow and I’ll tell you.

Bye for now,

More Moosey-Moose on Hollywood Boulevard

Hi Travel Buddies

Today was one super filled day!   OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

First I saw Mickey Mouse.  Then I saw his star on Hollywood Boulevard!

Not everyone gets a star on Hollywood Boulevard.

Only the super special people in the entertainment industry.  Someone in movies, or music, or television might get a star.

Maybe one day when I have my own TV show I will have a star, too!

Moosey-Moose at the Oscars

The day I was in Hollywood was the day before the Oscars!  I got to watch the crew set up the stage and the “Red Carpet” that the actors walk on.  This is a super shwanky  celebration.  In case you don’t know, the Oscar is an award for best something in a film.  Like best actor or best director or best music.

I’ll tell you tomorrow what I got!  I bet you will never guess!!

Bye for now,

Moosey-Moose Goes to Hollywood, California!

Hi Travel Buddies!

Today, I started off at the beach in Santa Monica.  They were setting up tents for the Spirit Awards.  Those are the awards for movies that were made with just a little bit of money.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I kept my eyes open wide for movie stars, but I didn’t see anybody I know.

Moosey Moose and Mickey Mouse

Later in the afternoon I went to Hollywood Boulevard.  I saw lots of movie stars there!  I bet you know who this is.  That’s right.  I got to sit with Mickey Mouse!  How cool is that?

Moosey Moose Gets a Shrek Hug

After chatting with Mickey, I kept walking down the street looking for more movie stars.  Before I knew it someone snuck up from behind me and grabbed me in his HUGE green hand!  Yup!  That’s right, Shrek!!!  Help!!!

Moosey Moose and Bumblebee from Transformers

I yelled for help and guess who came to my rescue? Bumblebee from the movie TRANSFORMERS!  Whew!  That was close.  Today turned out to be my lucky day after all. Bumblebee is super cool.

Check back tomorrow because I have more exciting things to tell you.  I bet you will never guess what I got!

Your Travel Buddy,

Moosey-Moose
